Activating Licenses
An activation represents what the customer installed or redeemed against an entitlement. The activation process generates the actual license rights used by the software application you sell to customers, based on the license models you defined earlier.
When activating licenses, the software producer turns on license rights for a product or set of products for a customer account by performing the following tasks:
• | Selecting an entitlement line item, identified by an activation ID, that refers to a specific product name and version |
• | Specifying values for license model attributes that are set at fulfillment time |
• | Generating a license |
