Update Overview
To create or update the information in the Overview tab

1.

Select a status of Active or Inactive from the drop-down box. If Inactive is selected, the update is ignored when the client calls in. |

2.
|
Enter a name for the Update (required). |
|
3.
|
Enter an ID for the Update (required). |
|
4.
|
Enter or select a date when the Update will be available. If left blank, the Update will be available immediately. |
|
5.
|
Enter or select a date when the Update expires and the client will no longer be able to receive it when calling in. |
|
6.
|
Select the type of type of entitlement check to be performed: |
|
•
|
Account (selected by default)—All devices owned by an account with an entitlement for the product associated with the Release To download package can get this Update. |
|
•
|
Device—Devices which have been mapped to an entitlement for the product associated with the Release To download package can get this Update. |
|
•
|
None—All devices can get the Update whether they are entitled to it or not. (This may be a suitable selection for an Update which deploys a security patch.) |
Note:If only anonymous devices are licensed (that is, devices which are not associated with an account), you can only create updates with the Entitlement check option set to None.
Served devices will only receive updates whose Entitlement check option is set to Account or None.
Note:When you create a new Update, you must add information to all four tabs before you click the Save button.
