What is Support Type?
The support type is listed on the Support Licenses page and identifies the type of fulfillment that is generated. The following support types are available:
•
EMERGENCY: A fulfillment generated by the Emergency operation. An emergency license is a short-term license generated to cover an emergency situation when a customer’s license has not expired, but isn’t working. |
•
PUBLISHER ERROR: A fulfillment generated by the Publisher Error operation. If a publisher makes an error when generating a license for a customer, it can be corrected and does not count against a customer’s return, repair, or rehost policy limits. |
•
STOP GAP: A fulfillment generated by the Stop Gap operation. If a customer’s license has expired and the customer has not formally renewed its entitlement, the publisher can generate a short-term stop gap license. |
•
MASTER: A fulfillment record that is created when a license is activated. When any portion of that fulfillment is returned, repaired, upgraded, upsold, or rehosted, the MASTER record is marked as obsolete. In addition: |
Note:For returns, if the entire fulfill count is returned, there is no additional fulfillment record created because the count goes back to the entitlement line item. If only a partial amount is returned, the partial return count is credited to the entitlement line item and and the obsolete fulfillment record is marked as returned.
