Editing Custom Content

When you edit custom content, you can alter its ID, description, the custom content, whether or not to show the content in the End-User Portal, and its version.

Tip:Notice that the custom content details on Edit Content page include a Permalink attribute. If the custom content is to be used as a stand-alone page, use the Permalink URI to link to your custom page.

Note:For more information about the use of content customizations, see About Custom Content .

To edit custom content

1. On the Custom Content page, click the ID of the item to edit. The Producer Portal opens the Edit Content page for the custom content.
2. If necessary, change the content ID or description for this custom content.
3. Choose whether the custom content is available to viewers in the End-User Portal:
Select the Hide from Portal? check box to prevent this content from appearing in the End-User Portal.
Leave the Hide from Portal? check box unselected to allow this content to appear in the End-User Portal (when its status is Live).
4. If necessary, change the version of the custom content with the Content Version control.
5. In Content, revise the text or HTML as needed.
6. Click the Preview icon. The Producer Portal shows the Preview Content in a pop-up window where you can see the custom content rendered.
7. Choose whether to save the custom content as a draft or to save and publish it:
Click Save Draft to save the content in its current state in Draft status. The Producer Portal saves the custom content with a status of Draft.
Click Publish to save the content in its current state in Live status. The Producer Portal saves the custom content with a status of Live. Custom content with Live status is available to End-User Portal users unless its Hide from Portal? check box is selected.

Tip:Note that the Permalink attribute on the Edit Content page identifies the path to the custom content page where your End-User Portal is hosted. You can link directly to the custom content page by creating a URL that uses your End-User Portal domain plus the Permalink value.
