Creating Custom Content

You can create custom content items from the Custom Content page. A new custom content item can replace the default content (if any) on a supported End-User Portal page or create a new standalone page.

To create custom content

1. On the Custom Content page, click Create Content. The Producer Portal opens the Create Content page.
2. On the Create Content page, set content details and enter the custom content in the field provided. See Custom Content Attributes in About Custom Content for more information.

Important:To change the content for a supported End-User Portal page, you must use the custom content ID for that page. To instead create a custom, standalone page, you must use a unique, unused custom content ID value. See Pages that Support Custom Content in About Custom Content for details.

3. Choose whether the custom content is available to viewers in the End-User Portal:
Select the Hide from Portal? check box to prevent this content from appearing in the End-User Portal.
Leave the Hide from Portal? check box unchecked to allow this content to appear in the End-User Portal (when its status is Live).
4. Choose a template.
For producers who want to create a landing page for free product trial registrations, click Template > TrialRegistration. See About Product Trial Registration Support for more information, in particular Sending End Users to a Trial Registration Page, which includes the URL for your trial registration page.
For all other custom content pages, leave Template blank.
5. Click the Preview icon. The Producer Portal shows the Preview Content in a pop-up window where you can see the custom content rendered.
6. Choose whether to save the custom content as a draft or to save and publish it:
Click Save Draft to save the content in its current state in Draft status. The Producer Portal saves the custom content with a status of Draft.
Click Publish to save the content in its current state in Live status. The Producer Portal saves the custom content with a status of Live. Custom content with Live status is available to End-User Portal users unless its Hide from Portal? check box is selected.

You can edit the custom content later by clicking its ID on the Custom Content page.
