Creating a New Account
To be associated with an entitlement, a company must be entered as an account in FlexNet Operations. This procedure includes tasks that explain how to create a new account, sub-account, or partner account.
Users assigned a role with the View and Manage Accounts permission can view, add, and edit accounts.
To create a new account

Click Accounts & Users > All Accounts. The Producer Portal opens the Manage Accounts page. |

2.
|
Choose an Account Type tab, and then click Create an Account. |
|
3.
|
On the Create Account page: |
|
a.
|
Enter the Account ID (required). |
|
b.
|
Enter the Account Name of the account (required). |
|
c.
|
Add additional address information as desired. |
Note:Producers who use download packages and who want to restrict end-users access to download packages by geographical location should populate the Country and Region fields.

d.
|
Set the Visible to Others check box (it is selected by default). |
|

|
To prevent partners in different distribution tiers from seeing information about this account, un-select Visible to Others. |
|
•
|
To allow partners to see information about this account, select Visible to Others. |
|
4.
|
Optionally, for producer accounts, link product lines to the account. Click Link Product Lines. Then, select the product lines to link and click OK. All members of the account have access to the linked product lines. |
Note:Link Product Lines appears on this page only when product lines functionality is properly enabled in the system configuration page (System > Configure > FlexNet Operations). See Managing Product Lines for details.

To link users to the account, do one of the following: |

Click Create a User to link a new user to the account. Then follow the steps outlined in Creating a User to create the new user account. |
|
•
|
Click Link Existing Users to link existing users to the account. Select the users (and roles, if applicable) you wish to link and click OK. |
|
6.
|
Click Next. On the Linked Sub-accounts page, select any sub-accounts you want to link to this account. |
After you have created an account, you can create sub-accounts for it.
To create a new sub-account
If you use the optional Advanced Organization Management module you can create new sub-accounts associated with a parent account.

Click Accounts & Users > All Accounts. The Producer Portal opens the Manage Accounts page. |
|
2.
|
On the Manage Accounts page, choose an Account Type tab. |
|
3.
|
Select the account with which you want to associate a sub-account, then click Create a Sub-account. |
|
4.

On the Create an Account page: |
|
a.
|
Enter the Account ID (required) of the sub-account. |
|
b.
|
Enter the Account Name of the sub-account (required). |
|
c.
|
Add additional information as desired. |
You can add additional sub-accounts by repeating Step 3 through Step 5.
Note:It is recommended that the total number of associated sub-accounts for any given account does not exceed 1000.
To create a new partner account
Partners are special accounts in FlexNet Operations. (See Partners and Distribution Tiers for more information.)

Click the Partners tab, and then click Create an Account. |

On the Create an Account page: |

Enter the Account Name of the account (required). |
|
c.

Add additional address information as desired. |

d.
|
Set the Visible to Others check box (it is selected by default). |

To allow partners to see information about this account, select Visible to Others. |

If you want to link users to the account, do one of the following: |

Click Create a User to link a new user to the account. Then follow the steps outlined in Creating a User to create the new user account. |

Click Next. On the Linked Sub-accounts page, select any sub-accounts you want to link to this account. |

Click Next. On the Relate Accounts page, select any partners you want to relate to this account. |
