Creating an Entitlement
In the Entitle Customers view, you can create a new entitlement or test entitlement.
Test entitlements allow testing of draft products and license models before they are deployed. All entitlement actions can be performed on test entitlements, but test entitlements cannot be moved to any other state. When a test entitlement is deleted, any fulfillments against it are also deleted. (The fulfillment records in FlexNet Operations are deleted; however, any client-side fulfillment records created in trusted storage as a result of the activation of a test entitlement cannot be deleted.)
To create a new entitlement
1. | Click Entitlements > Create. This link opens the Create an Entitlement page. (Click Entitlements > Create Test to create a test entitlement.) |
2. | Required fields are indicated by a red asterisk. Provide values for the following fields: |

Entitlement ID |
The entitlement identifier uniquely identifies the entitlement. Select Auto Generate to let FlexNet Operations assign an entitlement ID, or select Specify to enter an entitlement ID of your choice. If the entitlement is in the draft or test state, you can regenerate the activation IDs of draft line items or the entitlement ID by clicking Regenerate IDs. If the IDs are based on characteristics of the entitlement that were not set when the entitlement was created, you can use Regenerate IDs to regenerate these IDs after you have set the characteristics. |
