What is a Transfer?

If a company spins off a division and sets up a separate company, it can transfer some of its license entitlements to the new company by using the Transfer facility in the Producer Portal. Using Web services and the Producer Portal, the producer can transfer the entitlement, or one line item of an entitlement, to the new company. However, an entitlement can be transferred only if there are no active fulfillments against any of its line items. Unfulfilled copies of a line item can be transferred to a different company or entitlement.
