Uploading a File Image

You can upload a file image for an existing file. During the upload process, you select a file from your local file system to upload it to the Producer Portal.

Note:Uploaded files cannot be downloaded until the Download Available? field of the View File page indicates Yes. This action is only available when the delivery source is FlexNet Operations.

To upload a file image

1. On the View File page, click Edit > Upload File. This link opens the Upload File page.
2. On the Upload File page there are four upload options. Select the tab for the option you want to use and do the following:

Upload Option

Procedure

HTTP Upload

1. Click Browse and navigate to the file located on your PC to upload. (The user experience varies depending on the web browser you are using.) The Producer Portal shows the name of the upload file.
2. Optionally, type the expected MD5 checksum value.
3. Click Upload.

FTP Upload

1. Click Browse to select a file that has been uploaded to the Revenera FTP Server. A window appears with the list of files that are available. Select the box of the desired file.
2. Optionally, type the expected MD5 checksum value.
3. Click Upload.

Remote FTP Server

1. Enter the FTP Hostname, Username and Password as well as the path and filename of the file located on the remote FTP server.
2. Optionally, type the expected MD5 checksum value.
3. Click Upload.

High Speed Upload

1. Click Upload to select a file on your PC to begin a high-speed upload.

Note:You must have the Aspera Connect high-speed plug-in to use this option. If it is not already installed on your computer, click the link on the tab to access the download file.

2. Optionally, type the expected MD5 checksum value.

Note:For MD5 checksums, the value must be a 32 character hexadecimal value. When you enter a value in this field, the Producer Portal checks that the file it received has the same checksum as the value you enter.

The Producer Portal initiates the file image upload process and returns to the View File page for the current file. Once the upload is complete and successful, the file is available for end users to download (provided the file is properly associated to products and download packages to which the end user is entitled).

Note:It is possible to upload files without using the Producer Portal. For example, files can be uploaded via web services to automate the process or upload files into FlexNet Operations from your account’s system.
