About Download Package Associations

Download packages tie products and together with their download files. A download package can be associated with multiple products. Likewise, a download package can be associated with one or more files.

When you associate a download package to a product, you can either specify the product ID or, if you do not know the ID, you can search for products and select it from a list. (In both cases, you can specify or select multiple products, as necessary.)

One potential difficulty in identifying products to associate arises due to the way FlexNet Operations identifies products. A product ID is a combination of the product name and version. The syntax for product IDs is <product name>::<product version>. For example, SalesView Standard::1.0.
