Uploading a Capability Request from the Device Page

Capability requests can be manually uploaded by producers on the Producer Portal. You can upload a capability request from a device’s default view for a device or server page.

To upload a capability request for a device

1. In the Model Details section of the default view for a device or server page, click Browse and locate the capability request on your local system. (The exact controls vary depending on the browser you are using.)
2. Click Upload capability request (Upload request).

The capability request is processed.

After the capability request is processed, download the capability response and process it on your device. (See Generating a Capability Response.) In offline activation scenarios, for example, the producer communicates the capability response to the end user of a device that cannot connect directly to the Internet, and the end user applies it to their device to activate the capabilities to which they are entitled.
