Configuring Alert Behavior
There are alerts available in FlexNet Operations that can be used to notify specified users about different types of conditions or events. Alerts can be configured to display to the Alerts page or to send one or more email messages.
Users assigned a role with the View and Manage Alert Configurations permission can configure alert behavior.
To configure the behavior of an alert
1.
Click Administer > Configure Alerts/Jobs. |
2.
For the alert type you want to configure, click Configure. The Producer Portal shows the Configure Alert/Job Schedule page. |
3.
On the Configure Alert/Job Schedule page, select a Status of Active or Inactive. When you select Active, the Schedule option appears. For all alerts, except Purge Email History, the default status is Inactive. |
4.
For the Schedule option you can: |
•
Select the Standard option to set the number and time interval (default is 30 days). |
Note:For Purge Email History, the default setting is to run once a day. It purges all sent emails older than 183 days or whatever is configured in System > Configuration.
•
Select the Advanced option to set a cron expression for the time and frequency of the schedule. See Creating a Customized Schedule for more information. |
An alert condition is first checked within a couple of minutes of the configuration being saved. Thereafter, the alert condition is checked according to the Schedule. For example, if an alert was configured with an interval of 15 minutes, the first check occurs a couple of minutes after the configuration is saved. The second check occurs 15 minutes after the first checking process finishes, the third check occurs 15 minutes after the second checking process finishes, etc. Therefore, the clock time that an alert condition is checked varies according to when the original alert configuration was saved and how long each checking process lasts.
5.
Specify a Subscription Restriction. You can choose to allow only certain roles to subscribe to the alert. |
•
Check the role(s) that you wish to allow to subscribe to that alert. |
The Producer Portal saves your alert behavior changes.
