What is a Test Upgrade?

A test upgrade can be created using a draft product and draft license models for testing purposes. It remains in TEST state only. A test upgrade lets software producers and device manufacturers ensure that the products, license models, and relationships are defined properly before deploying them into production.

To enable a test upgrade in the Producer Portal, both versions of the product must have been added, and a relationship between them (such as Upgrade To or Upgrade From) must be defined on the Relate to Different Products page. You can then open the Entitle Customers page and upgrade the entitlement line item.
