Managing License Models

License models can be managed on the License Model page.

To open the License Model page

Click Administer > License Models.

The License Model page automatically displays recently accessed license models, if applicable. To view all license models, select License Models from the Search For choice list, and click the Simple Search button. You can also search for license models based on specific criteria.

Several sample license models are delivered with FlexNet Operations.

Capability	Description
Add a new license model from scratch	To add a new license model, click Create New License Model.
Make a new license model from a copy of an existing license model	To copy a license model, select exactly one license model and click the Copy button. Follow the guidelines to add a new license model.
Delete a license model	To delete a license model, select one or more license models and click the Delete button.
Change the state of a license model	To change the state of one or more license models, select the license models, click the Change State choice list, and select a state. License models can be in one of the following states: Draft, Deployed, Inactive, or Obsolete. • Draft: A license model is created and can be edited in the draft state. • Deployed: A license model must be deployed to be linked to a product. • Inactive: An inactive license model cannot be linked to a product or used to create an entitlement. Existing fulfillments using an inactive license model can be activated, returned, repaired, and rehosted. • Obsolete: An obsolete license model can be deleted.
Print a license model	To print a license model, select one or more license models and click the Print button.
