Short Code Repair
Trusted storage repairs are normally done programmatically as transactions between a client or server activation utility and the FlexNet Operations server. The activation utility generates a request that is submitted programmatically and the FlexNet Operations server generates a response that is used to complete the repair.
However, some customer environments do not support communication with the FlexNet Operations server. If the publisher created a short code ASR that was packaged with the software, the customer who originally activated the license with that short code ASR can use the short code ASR file to generate a short code request to repair the license.
A FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility, running on the machine on which the license is to be repaired, uses the short code ASR to generate a short request code.

The short request code is sent to the publisher, who loads it into FlexNet Operations to generate a short response code. |

The response code is saved to a file and sent to the customer, who uses the FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility to process the response and repair the license. |
To allow a customer to repair a license with a short response code
|

The customer’s license must have been activated with a short code ASR, the short code ASR must have been packaged with the product, and the activation utility must be able to generate a short code repair request and process a short code repair response. The license to be repaired may have been originally activated online or with a short code request. |

Instruct the customer to use the FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility, which you provide, to generate a short code repair request using the short code ASR file. |

Receive the generated short code from the customer, along with the activation ID (or Web register key) used to activate the original license. |

4.

Click Licenses > Short Code Repair. |
