Configuring End-User Portal Settings

A user must be assigned a role with the View and Manage Configurations permission to modify configuration settings for the End-User Portal through the Producer Portal.

Note:Before changing any configuration settings in a working FlexNet Operations instance, it is advisable to export the working configuration settings. If there is a problem with the new settings, you have a backup of working settings to restore.

Changing End-User Portal Settings

Follow the instructions, below, to change the settings that govern the appearance and behavior of your End-User Portal.

To configure the End-User Portal

1. Click System > Configure.
2. Click End-User Portal Setup to open the configuration page for the End-User Portal.
3. Make any setting changes that suit your configuration needs. Consult the tables, below, for additional information about the settings in each section.
4. Click Save Configs to save changes.

The Producer Portal saves your configuration changes.

General Options

These settings correspond to the General Options section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

Hide Header

Hides the header in all pages of portal. Select to enable when End-User Portal is embedded into an external portal.

 

Skip Home Page

Skips the Home page after a user logs in and proceeds directly to the List Entitlements page.

 

Resource Bundle Time-to-Live

30 or specify

Reload the resource bundle cache at this time interval (minutes). Specify the number of minutes between resource bundle cache reloads.

Enable Self-Registration for an existing Account

Selected or unselected

Select to enable an end user to be associated with an existing Self-Registered account when they self-register in the End-User Portal with an entitlement ID or activation ID.

 

Enable terms and conditions panel

Selected or unselected

Show or hide the Privacy Terms and Conditions link on the Register for Account page for self-registering users. If enabled, users are reminded to read the privacy terms and conditions when they click Complete on the Register for Account page. When a user clicks the link, the Privacy Terms and Conditions are opened in a new tab. Customers are not required to acknowledge that they have read the Privacy Terms and Conditions.

 

Terms and conditions URL

Specify

If you selected Enable terms and conditions panel, enter the URL to the Privacy Terms and Conditions that a self-registering user should read before registering.

 

Show Download Button

Selected or unselected

Show or hide the Download button on the Downloads tab on the device’s default view. If selected, the Download button enables a user to download entire download packages or individual files contained in a download package.

Requires that the configuration setting Hide Download Manager (in the Downloads Page section) be unselected and Show Downloads Tab (in the Devices Page section) be selected.

Default: Unselected.

Version:This setting is only available for producers who use the Software Delivery module.

 

Login Page

These settings correspond to the Login Page section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

The settings correspond to the Portal Navigation section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

For customer users, hides the Host/Device Transfer Jobs links in the License Support menu.

 

Hide Downloads Menu

Hides the Downloads menu in the top-level navigation.

 

Hide List Downloads Link

Hides the List Downloads link in the Downloads menu.

 

Hide Recent Files Added Link

Hides the Recent Files Added link in the Downloads menu.

Hide Usage Menu

Hides the Usage menu in the top-level navigation.

 

Hide License Support Menu

Hides the License Support menu in the top-level navigation.

 

Show List All Administrators Link

Selected or unselected

If selected, shows the List all administrators link in the Accounts & Users menu. This enables the end-user to see the linked names of their account administrators in the End-User Portal and contact them by email.

Requires that the Roles for Administrator field be populated and that Hide Accounts & Users Menu be unselected.

Note:The List all administrators link only appears for users with roles that include the End-User Portal permissions View Accounts or View Users.

 

Roles for Administrators

Specify

Defines the role that a user must have to be considered an administrator. To specify multiple roles, separate the roles using a comma. If more than one role is specified, it is sufficient for a user to have one of the roles to be considered an administrator.

This field must be populated if Show List All Administrators Link is selected. If Show List All Administrators Link is selected but no roles are specified, the Account Administrators list in the End-User Portal will be empty.

 

End-User Portal Home Page

These settings correspond to the Portal Home Page section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

Show Downloads Tab

Controls whether the Downloads tab is visible on the device’s default view. If selected, the Downloads tab shows all downloads that are available for a standalone device.

Default: unselected.

Version:This setting is only available for producers who use the Software Delivery module.

 

Enforce device management permissions across accounts

Selected or unselected

Controls the capabilities available on the Device Details page. When selected, a user belonging to more than one account will have their permissions to view or manage devices enforced according to the account that owns the device.

Default: unselected.

 

Downloads Page

These settings correspond to the Downloads Page section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

Show Download Package Version

Show or hide the version number for each download package next to the download package name above the file list on the Download List page.

Note that download packages are not required to have a version. If no download package version is available, no download package version appears in the End-User Portal.

Select the box to show the download package version numbers.

 

Hide File Details

Selected or unselected

Show or hide all additional file details in the expanded file details. Select the box to hide all such details.

 

Show Order Media

Selected or unselected

Show or hide Order Media on the Downloads page. Order Media enables End-User Portal users to request copies of the files to which they are entitled on physical media.

 

Order Media Request Recipient

Specify

The email destination for the Order Media request messages. Set the email address the End-User Portal uses when an end user wants to order physical media.

Recent Releases

These settings correspond to the Recent Releases section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

Show Custom Activation ID

Replaces the default activation ID with the value of a custom activation ID attribute on the Download Order page.

Exceptions

Any value other than “Not Applicable” and “Not Required”—The Download Order page displays the custom activation ID attribute with the value <value>. This replaces the Activation ID property and its value.
“Not Required”—The Download Order page displays the custom activation ID attribute with the “Not Required” value. This replaces the Activation ID property and its value.
“Not Applicable”—The Download Order page displays the Activation ID property and its value.
No value—The Download Order page displays the Activation ID property and its value.

 

Download Packages Page

These settings correspond to the Download Packages Page section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

End-User Portal: Download Packages Page Configurations

The Download Packages page lists the download packages for a product. In the End-User Portal, the Download Packages page appears when you click on a product name. For example, an end user might click on a product name that appears in Your Downloads on the Home page or in the list that appears after clicking Downloads > List Downloads.

 

Manage Accounts & Users

These settings correspond to the Manage Accounts & Users section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

Note: Display of the Created By column on the Accounts page in the End-User Portal is configurable (default: displayed). Contact Revenera Support if the Created By column should be hidden.

Custom Branding

These settings correspond to the Branding section of the End-User Portal Setup page in System > Configure.

End-User Portal: Custom Branding Configurations

Upload Company Logo

Specify

Choose an image file (PNG or JPG format) to serve as your account’s logo in the End-User Portal and upload it. Use the controls to choose a file from your local machine to upload.

After an image file is uploaded, a reset button is available to enable you to clear the uploaded image.

Maximum file size: 40KB

Recommended image height: 30 pixels

 

Upload CSS

Specify

Choose a CSS file to replace the style settings used by default for the End-User Portal. Uploading a customized CSS file allows for a broader range of style changes consolidated into a single place. For smaller changes, it may be simpler to use one of the override settings instead.

Use the controls to choose a CSS file from your local machine to upload. (When no custom CSS file is present, the End-User Portal uses its default CSS.)

Viewing Previously Uploaded Files

If a custom CSS file has previously been uploaded, a Last Update date will be listed. To view the contents of this file, enter the following URL:

https://<siteID>.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/staticfiles/operationsportal/custom.css

If a custom header file has previously been uploaded, a Last Update date will be listed. To view the contents of this file, enter the following URL:

https://<siteID>.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/staticfiles/operationsportal/header.html

If a custom footer file has previously been uploaded, a Last Update date will be listed. To view the contents of this file, enter the following URL:

https://<siteID>.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/staticfiles/operationsportal/footer.html

Note:When you upload a CSS file to the Upload CSS field, it will overwrite any existing custom CSS file that was previously uploaded. Also, when you upload a custom CSS file, it will always be renamed to custom.css, even if that was not its original name. The same goes for a custom header (will always be named header.html) and a custom footer (will always be named footer.html).

 

Upload Header

Specify

Choose an HTML file to replace the default header content for the End-User Portal. Use the controls to choose a file from your local machine to upload. (When no custom header HTML is present, the End-User Portal uses its default header content.)

 

Upload Footer

Specify

Choose an HTML file to replace the default footer content for the End-User Portal. Use the controls to choose a file from your local machine to upload. (When no custom footer HTML is present, the End-User Portal uses its default footer content.)

 

Primary Navigation Position

Top, Left, or Right

Specify where to show the high-level navigation menu for the End-User Portal. Default: Top.

 

Configure Portal Colors

 

Click Open Configurator to show the Color Configurator panel. The Color Configurator allows you to set the colors to use in your End-User Portal pages for the following content:

Default button label color – sets the color of the label on default buttons in the End-User Portal.
Default button color – sets the color of the default buttons in the End-User Portal.
Background color – sets the background page color for all End-User Portal pages.
Title color – sets the text color of the page titles in the End-User Portal.
Link color – sets the color of the link text and lightweight button text on End-User Portal pages.
Primary navigation – sets the background color for the primary navigation menu.
Primary navigation open – sets the background color for open (active) primary navigation menu items.
Primary navigation text – sets the color for all text in the primary navigation menu.

Specify all colors using hexadecimal format. For example, #000000 for black, #ffffff for white, or #228B22 for forest green.

Click Preview to show a sample of your color settings within the Color Configurator.

Click Undo to revert any changes that have not yet been saved.

Click Use Defaults to restore color settings to the FlexNet Operations default colors.

Click Save to store your changes to these color settings.
