Getting Started with Updates and Insights

This Getting Started with Updates and Insights section presents fundamental updates and insights concepts and uses exercises to lead a Producer Portal user through automated update management tasks. The intended audience for this getting started section is the first-time Producer Portal user, or one without FlexNet Operations training or experience.

Version:Updates and Insights features are only available for producers who purchase the Software Delivery module.

About Updates and Insights	A discussion of basic FlexNet Operations updates and insights concepts. This section introduces FlexNet Operations Updates and Insights module features and provides a process overview for creating and delivering an update.
Requesting Update Information	Describes how devices can obtain information about updates.
Logging Device Events	Explains how to log device events with the Notification Server to gain insights about the process or outcome of an upgrade.
Authorizing Update Requests	Only authorized devices are allowed to access the REST APIs. This section explains how to authorize devices to make update requests.
Securing Update Responses	Explains how to use the Notification Server to provide update responses.
Updates and Insights Exercises	A series of exercises that demonstrate how to create an update package. The end of this section also provides brief descriptions of more advanced topics and explains where to find more information about them.
