Entitling a Customer Account to a Product
In this exercise, you entitle the BarryPhoto customer account and customer end user Lisa Barry to the VPN5050 and 10MbpsVPN5000 products. The procedure is similar to the one you used to entitle BarryPhoto to product PhotoPrint in Getting Started with Entitlement Management.
To entitle customer account BarryPhoto to product VPN5050

In the Producer Portal, click Entitlements > Create. The Entitle Customers to Licenses page appears. |

Under Create An Entitlement, on the Entitlement ID list, select Specify and type ENT-VPN5050 in the field that appears next to it. |
|

Under End Customer And Channel Partners, click Add. The End Customer And Channel Partners | Accounts window opens. |
|

On the Customers tab under Accounts, select Account from the Search For menu, search for and select BarryPhoto, then click Next. The End Customer And Channel Partners | Contacts window opens. |

Under Contacts, search for and select Lisa Barry, then click Save. The window closes. On the Entitle Customers to Licenses page, under End Customer And Channel Partners, the end customer’s account name, contact, and email address are populated. |

On the Line Items tab, click New Line Item. The Configure Line Item wizard opens. Search for and select the VPN5050 product. |
|

At the bottom of the wizard, click Next twice to advance to the Configure Product step. Enter the VPN5050 line item attributes: |

Start Date: Select Use First Activation Date |
|
•
|
Expiration: Select Specify Duration, type 1, then select Years |
|
•
|
Keep the default values for all other attributes. |
Click Save.

On the Line Items tab, review the draft VPN5050 line item, then click Save & Deploy. The line item is deployed and this message appears: Entitlement deployed successfully. |

Click the VPN5050 line item’s Activation ID, review the Line Item Details window, then click Cancel to close it. |

At the bottom of the Entitle Customers to Licenses page, click View and select View History from the menu. The Change History window opens for the ENT-VPN5050 entitlement. |

Review the change history of the ENT-VPN5050 entitlement, then click OK to close the window. |

On the Entitle Customers to Licenses page, click Email to send entitlement notification email to Lisa Barry at Barry Photography Studio. The Entitle Customers to Licenses page appears with the customer’s address in the Ship To Email field. |
Note:To include additional recipients, type their email addresses into the Ship To Email field separated by commas.

Add your email address to the recipients list so you receive a copy of the entitlement email. |

Click Send. The Entitle Customers to Licenses page appears with the message Email sent to the recipients <address list>. |

15.
|
Review the entitlement notification email you receive. |

Repeat Step 1 through Step 15 of task To entitle customer account BarryPhoto to product VPN5050 to entitle the customer to a product with these attributes:
