Adding a Product

In this exercise, you add the VPN5050 and 10MbpsVPN5000 additional encryption throughput products and link them to the Embedded Counted license model. The procedure is similar to the one you used to create PhotoPrint in the section Getting Started with Entitlement Management.

To add product ABC VPN 5050

1. In the Producer Portal, click Products > Products. The Package Products page appears.
2. Click Add New Product.
3. Under Create A Product, enter the product attributes:
• Product Name: Type VPN5050
• Description: Type ABC VPN 5050 Basic Features
• Version: Type 1.0
• License Technology: Select FlexNet Licensing
• Can be used on a device: Select Yes
• License Generator: Select demo
4. Click Add Features. The Add Features To Product window opens.
5. In the Add Features To Product window, under Available Features, search for and select Encryption_Throughput,1.0, SimultaneousUsers,1.0, and Redundancy,1.0.
6. Click Add ► to move Encryption_Throughput,1.0, SimultaneousUsers,1.0, and Redundancy,1.0 to Selected Features, then click Add. The features are added to product VPN5050 and the window closes.
7. In the feature table, enter a number in the Quantity field for each feature:

8. Click Next. Under Link License Models To Product, click Link License Models. The Select License Models window opens.
9. Under Available License Models, select Embedded Counted then click Add ► to move it to Selected License Models.
10. Click Add to add the license model and close the window. On the Package Products page, the Embedded Counted license model is shown.
11. Click Save to save the product. This message appears: License models linked successfully. Note that the new VPN5050 product is listed in the table on the right side of the Package Products page.

To add product ABC VPN 5000 Encryption Throughput (10 Mbps)

1. On the Package Products page, click Add New Product.
2. Under Create A Product, enter the product attributes:
• Product Name: Type 10MbpsVPN5000
• Description: Type ABC VPN 5000 Encryption Throughput (10 Mbps)
• Version: Type 1.0
• License Technology: Select FlexNet Licensing
• Can be used on a device: Select Yes
• License Generator: Select demo
3. Click Add Features. The Add Features To Product window opens.
4. In the Add Features To Product window, under Available Features, search for and select Encryption_Throughput,1.0.
5. Click Add ► to move Encryption_Throughput,1.0 to Selected Features, then click Add. The feature is added to product 10MbpsVPN5000 and the window closes.
6. In the feature table, on the Encryption_Throughput line, type 10 in the Quantity field.
7. Click Next. Under Link License Models To Product, click Link License Models. The Select License Models window opens.
8. Under Available License Models, select Embedded Counted then click Add ► to move it to Selected License Models.
9. Click Add to add the license model and close the window. On the Package Products page, the Embedded Counted license model is shown.
10. Click Save to save the product. This message appears: License models linked successfully. Note that the new 10MbpsVPN5000 product is listed in the table on the right side of the Package Products page.
