Creating a FlexNet Embedded License Server

In this exercise, you use the End-User Portal to create the ABCVPN_Server local license server for FlexNet Embedded devices. The ABCVPN_Server local license server can also be created in the Producer Portal.

To create FlexNet Embedded license server ABCVPN_Server

1.

If you have not already done so, log in to the End-User Portal as Lisa Barry, the Barry Photography Studio end user you created in the exercise in the section Getting Started with Entitlement Management.

Click Devices > Create Device. The Device | New Device page appears.

In the Name field, type ABCVPN_Server.

Select the Runs license server? check box.

For Server deployment, select Local.

On the ID drop-down menu, select ETHERNET. In the Primary ID field, type ABCVPN_Server.

Click Save. On the View Server page that appears, review the server details. Under Model Details, note that this server does not include any pre-installed product and that no additional product entitlements are currently mapped.
