Mapping an Additional Product Entitlement to a Device
In this exercise, you log in to the End-User Portal to map an additional 10 Mbps of encryption throughput to standalone device ABCVPN5050-1.
To map the ABC VPN 5000 Encryption Throughput (10 Mbps) product entitlement to device ABCVPN5050-1
1. | Log in to the End-User Portal as Lisa Barry, the Barry Photography Studio end user you created in the exercise in the section Getting Started with Entitlement Management. |
2. | In the End-User Portal, click Devices > Devices. The Devices page for Barry Photography Studio appears. |
3. | In the Devices page list, click the ABCVPN5050-1 link. The device’s default view for ABCVPN5050-1 appears. Review the information under Device Details. Under Model Details, note that Product Name is VPN5050 and that no additional licenses are currently mapped to this device. |
4. | Click Action and select Map Entitlements from the menu. The Map Entitlements page appears. |
5. | In the 10MbpsVPN5000, Version 1.0 Qty to Add field, type 1 to represent 10 Mbps of additional encryption throughput. |
6. | Click Save. This message appears on the device’s default view: Entitlements successfully mapped. Note that the Status of 10MbpsVPN5000, Version 1.0 is License not generated. |
8. | On the device’s default view, click View and select View History from the menu. On the Device History page that appears, review the Time, Event, and Additional Details of each line in the list. |
9. | Click Devices > Devices and click the ABCVPN5050-1 link. On the device’s default view, note that the Status of 10MbpsVPN5000, Version 1.0 is now License generated. |
10. | To use the FlexNet Embedded printbin tool to view the contents of the binary license file: |
a. | Open a command prompt window. |
b. | In the command prompt window, navigate to <FlexNet_Embedded_install_dir>\bin\tools, the directory in which you saved the binary license file in Step 7. |
c. | At the prompt, type and enter the command printbin ABCVPN5050-1.bin where ABCVPN5050-1.bin is the name of the binary license file. |
11. | Review the license file, which looks similar to: |
