Associating Download Packages with a Product

In this exercise, you associate the PhotoPrintInstaller and PhotoPrintDocumentation download packages with the PhotoPrint product.

To associate the PhotoPrintInstaller download package to the PhotoPrint product

1.

In the Producer Portal, click Products > Search Download Packages. The Producer Portal opens the Search Download Packages page.

On the Search Download Packages page, type a value for Download Package ID: PhotoPrintInstaller.

Click Search. The Producer Portal opens the Search Results: Download Packages page and shows the PhotoPrintInstaller download package in the search results.

Click PhotoPrintInstaller. The Producer Portal opens the View Download Package page for PhotoPrintInstaller.

On the View Download Package page, click Associate > Associate to Product. The Producer Portal opens the Associate this Download Package to Products page.

In Search Products, for Product ID type Photo* and click Search. The Producer Portal shows a list of products with matching product IDs.

In Search Products, use Photo* to find the PhotoPrint product.

Click the checkbox for PhotoPrint::12.0 and then click Associate Download Package to Selected Products.

Important:Notice that the product ID for PhotoPrint is a combination of the product name and product version: PhotoPrint::12.0. This is how FlexNet Operations identifies the product, internally. One ramification of the product ID syntax is that a search for the product by its product name, PhotoPrint, does not match the product ID. For best results, use an asterisk as a wildcard character to be sure your product search captures the product you are looking for. For example, Photo* or PhotoPrint* successfully finds PhotoPrint.

The Producer Portal saves the product-download package association and shows the Where Download Package Used page for PhotoPrintInstaller.

Repeat the steps above to associate the PhotoPrintDocumentation download package with the PhotoPrint product as well.
