The Electronic Software Delivery Module

The Electronic Software Delivery module adds electronic software delivery support to FlexNet Operations. Producers who use FlexNet Operations with the Electronic Software Delivery module define their downloads as part of the product packaging process. The downloads they define are available to entitled end users in the End-User Portal.

Downloads are specified as download packages. A download package describes a group of files or containerized applications (Docker images and Helm charts) or both and relates that group with a product, a producer, and, optionally, a license agreement (sometimes called an end-user license agreement or EULA, for short).

Download Packages Associations

A product can have many download packages, and download packages can be associated with one or more products. Download packages collect files or containerized applications into groups that might comprise a software release, a component, or any other grouping that fits your account’s needs.

For producers who use FlexNet Operations with the Electronic Software Delivery module, the Producer Portal includes features for managing download packages, files, agreements, and producers. The Products menu includes links for creating and managing these items. Also, product lines, which are otherwise optional, are required for producers who use the Electronic Software Delivery module.

Containerized applications are managed and stored in a separate registry (either hosted by Revenera or hosted by you, the software producer).
