Deploying a License Technology and Model

A license model defines characteristics that determine how, when, where, and by whom a Flex-enabled application can be used. In this exercise, you deploy the FlexNet Licensing technology and its Nodelocked Uncounted license model.

Important:Licensing is not covered in this getting started section. These tasks are included because product PhotoPrint must be linked to a license model to be deployed. For more information, see Administering License Technologies, or these getting started sections:

To deploy the license technology

1.

Log in to the FlexNet Operations Producer Portal if you logged out after completing the Account and User Creation exercises.

2.

Click Administer > License Technologies. The License Technologies page appears, listing FlexNet Licensing with a state of draft.

3.

Select the FlexNet Licensing check box, then click Change State ▼ and select Deploy from the drop-down menu. Click OK in the verification message. In the License Technologies table, FlexNet Licensing is shown with a State of Deployed. This message appears: Deployed the following License Technologies successfully: FlexNet Licensing.

To deploy the license model

1.

Click Administer > License Models. The Package Products - License Models page appears.

2.

Select Nodelocked Uncounted.

3.

Click Change State ▼ and select Deploy from the menu.

4.

Click OK in the verification message. In the License Models table, Nodelocked Uncounted is shown with a State of Deployed. This message appears: Deployed the following License Model(s) successfully: Nodelocked Uncounted.
