Cloud Licensing Service: Viewing the Auto-Provisioned License Server
Once you deploy the entitlement, ENTL-SCI-OPS, FlexNet Operations automatically generates the license server from which served clients in the end customer account acquire their license rights. In this exercise, you will locate the auto-provisioned license server in the Producer Portal.
To view the auto-provisioned license server
1. | In the Producer Portal, click Devices > Devices. The Producer Portal opens the Devices page. |
2. | On the Devices page, locate the new license server by its account name. |
a. | In the search controls, select Account name from the drop-down list. |
b. | Type DemoCustOrg in the search field and then click Search. |
3. | On the Devices search results page, click the Name of DemoCustOrg’s license server. The Producer Portal opens the View Server page. |
Notice that the View Server page shows a number of important attributes of the license server. In particular, make a note of the license server ID. The license server ID, in this case 3VH8MNZESMSP, is also the instance ID value for the server URL. This instance ID value is used in the endpoint URL where the served clients connect to make capability requests. (See Cloud Licensing Service: Obtaining the License Server URL.)
Notice also, that the license Server’s View Server page also shows the product licenses that are served by it. In this case, the license server includes the Example Calculator line item from the ENTL-SCI-OPS entitlement. (The Example Baseline line item is not served by the license server. Instead, it is present in the entitlement to support the registration of its served clients.)
Tip:When auto-provisioning is used, you can also find a customer account’s default license server instance on customer account’s Create an Account page. There, click the license server ID link, labeled Cloud Licensing Service instance (Auto Provisioned), to open the View Server page.
