Cloud Licensing Service: Creating an Account and a User

In the FlexNet Operations Producer Portal, use the commands under the Accounts & Users menu to create an account that represents a customer enterprise. For this example, create an account called Demo Customer Org.

Note:The creation of this customer account and end user is also part of other FlexNet Operations getting started sections. If the account and user already exist in the Producer Portal, you can skip this exercise.

If you already have a test end user in a customer account you can entitle to these products, you can opt use that user instead of creating the user described here. Otherwise, follow the instructions, below, to create the customer account (Demo Customer Org), the end user account (Demo Customer) and entitle it to the Example Calculator and Example Baseline products.

To create the customer account and end user

1. In the Producer Portal, click Accounts & Users > Create Account. The Producer Portal opens the Create an Account page.
2. On the Create an Account page, type the following values for the Account Name and Display Name attributes.

Keep the default values for all other attributes.

3. Click Create a User. The Producer Portal saves the Demo Customer Org account and opens the Create a User page to add a new user to it.
4. On the Create a User page, type the following values for the new user’s Contact Details:

An email address you control. This email account is where FlexNet Operations will send the initial login credentials and entitlements.

Keep the default values for all other User Details and Contact Details attributes.

5. In Accounts, select the check box for Portal User Role. This gives Demo Customer the standard permissions for portal users.
6. Click Save.

The Producer Portal creates Demo Customer as a new user and sends a welcome message to the email address you provided. Use the credentials in that email to log in to the End User Portal and verify the Demo Customer account is functional.
