Creating, Editing, or Deleting a User
Information for a FlexNet Operations is typed manually into FlexNet Operations. FlexNet Operations users are in the FlexNet domain. Authentication information is stored in the FlexNet Operations database.
If you are assigned a role with the View and Manage Users permission, you can view, add, and edit all types of users. If you are assigned a role with the View and Manage Customer Users permission or View and Manage Partner Users permission, you can view all types of users but you can add and edit only customer users or partner users, respectively. The Create a User page displays the creation and last login dates for non-shared users.
When you create a new user account, an email containing a system-generated password and login instructions is sent to the user’s email address. The user logs in for the first time with the system-generated password and is immediately prompted to change the password.
You can edit a user to change the user’s details, contact information, or account.
You can delete a user from FlexNet Operations if the user has no dependencies (such as, for example, line items, entitlements, or alert subscriptions). This permanently removes that user from the database. If you want to keep the user in the database but want to restrict access, consider deactivating the user instead.
You cannot permanently delete a user from the database who has dependencies. However, you can perform a force delete. The force delete ensures that the user record and its dependencies are retained but placed in an inactive state. In this state, all fields on the user record are rendered obsolete, login-credential resets for the user are prohibited, and no further access to the user record is allowed.
Note that his option applies only to the forced deletion of non-producer users with dependencies.
