Associating a Device with a Device User
When the Device User Option is enabled, the User field is visible and a device can be associated with an end user or contact called the Device User. Associating a device with a device user allows an End-User Portal administrator to communicate with someone regarding licenses on the device.
Note:When the Device user option is enabled (not set to Off), device user is in one of these formats:
You can associate a device with a device user from the default view for a device or server page.
To associate a device with a device user—no user validation

Click Edit > Edit this Device/Server. The default edit page for a device or server opens. |

In the User field, type the device user information for the device. |
To remove an associated user, clear the User field.
|

Click Save to save the change. The default view for a device or server page opens, showing the updated User. |
To associate a device with a device user—validated user
|
1.
|
Click Edit > Edit this Device/Server. The default edit page for a device or server opens. |
|
2.
|
In the User field, click the search icon to display a list of available users. |
To remove an associated user, clear the User field.
|
3.
|
Select one user, then click Select to close the list and set the device user. |
|
4.
|
Click Save to save the change. The default view for a device or server page opens, showing the updated User. |
