Configuring Anchoring
If you have decided to configure anchoring, the following decisions are presented. Based on these decisions, you are presented with additional decisions and finally a set of attributes to select. The usefulness and ramifications of these attributes can be further explored in FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit documentation.

Do you want to use the same anchoring for end users and enterprise users?
|
License models that apply to end users are retail activation, enterprise activation, and floating borrowable license models. License models that apply to enterprise users are enterprise activation, floating transferable, and floating borrowable license models.

Yes - Default: If this transaction key is associated with a product meant to be activated on both end-user and license server machines, the same anchoring is used. |
|
•
|
No - Different anchoring is used for the same product when activated on end-user and license server machines. |

2.
|
Do you want to use default anchoring for all supported operating systems? |
|
•
|
Yes - Default. The Default anchoring configuration is displayed but not changeable. See the default anchoring configuration in the next table. |

|
No - You are asked to choose anchoring for each supported operating system from the available anchoring. |
Note:When the transaction key binding type is set to Virtualization-aware Fingerprint, only Windows (registry and track zero) and Linux (file based) anchoring are supported.

If you answer Yes to Question 1 and Question 2, click the Save button to save the transaction key. If not, decide whether to use default anchors for different types of users on different operating systems. |

For End Users: Do you want to use default anchoring for supported operating systems? |

•
|
No - You are asked to choose anchoring for each supported operating system from the available anchoring. |
|
5.
|
For Enterprise Users: Do you want to use default anchoring for supported operating systems?
|
|
•
|
No - You are asked to choose anchoring for each supported operating system from the available anchoring. |
|
6.
|
If you selected No to either Question 4 or Question 5, configure the anchors for end users and/or enterprise users, if necessary. |

7.
|
Click the Save button to save the transaction key. |
