About Publishers and Publisher Identities

Software publishers and device manufacturers can be assigned one or more publisher identities. A publisher identity is binary data that contains a publisher or manufacturer name and encryption data. There are two main components to a publisher identity: the server component used to sign licenses, and a client component (containing public keys) that go into the license-enabled code. In addition, back-office identities facilitate FlexNet Embedded trials.

Public keys for your publisher identity were supplied upon purchase of FlexNet Operations. Please consult the FlexNet Publishing Licensing Toolkit documentation for details.
