Calculating the Renewal Score
The formula for calculating the Renewal Score is based on two factors:
1. | How far the products are from their expiration dates (for subscription or maintenance lines). |
2. | The Consumption value. The Consumption score is derived from the ratio of consumed quantities to purchased quantities for the account, on a 100-point scale. For example, if an account purchased a quantity of 42 but consumed a quantity of 21, the Consumption value is 0.5 and the Consumption score is 50. |
For the first factor, there are three weighted renewal periods, based on how close the entitlements are to their expiration dates: Renewal Look Ahead, Expiring Window, and Renewal Critical. These renewal periods are labels for how close an entitlement is to its expiration date.
Renewal Period |
Weight |
Default Threshold |
Renewal Look Ahead |
.25 |
200 days |
Expiring Window |
.50 |
90 days |
Renewal Critical |
.90 |
30 days |
The renewal period weights are fixed and not configurable; however, producers can configure the renewal period threshold values in their system configuration settings. In the Producer Portal, click System > Configure > FlexNet Operations > Renewals.
The complete formula for the renewal score is
(1–((Renewal Look Ahead*.25)+(Expiring Window*.50)+(Renewal Critical*.90)+Consumption Value))/2
where the value for each renewal period is either 0 or 1.
Using the renewal period values, only one renewal period (Renewal Look Ahead, Expiring Window, or Renewal Critical) is factored into the score at a time. After a product enters a specific renewal period, that renewal period has a value of 1 and all other renewal periods have a value of 0.
To filter the renewals list
1. | On the Renewals tab, hover the cursor over the filter icon to display the filter selection list. By default, the Accounts page is set to display the product health score with all conditions, At risk, Warning, or Healthy, with types, Subscription and Maintenance, and with a status of Expiring. |
2. | To change the default filter setting, unselect one or more of the statuses, types and/or conditions. If all the status boxes are unselected, a warning appears to remind you that at least one status must be selected. All types unselected is the same as all types selected. |
3. | Click Apply to filter the renewals according to your selections. |
The number in the red bubble indicates how many filters are active.
You can also search a filtered renewal list. Use the drop-down list to target your search to a Product Name or Activation ID.
To view Entitlement Details

The Entitlement Details window displays the information for a particular entitlement including ID information (Entitlement ID, state, sold-to, description and activation ID), the name and description of the products the entitlement is associated with, and the activation information.
